First Time Continental Motorcycle Tour - France & Spain

Mountain Roads in Europe Stunning Gorge
High Mountain Roads Stunning Gorge

OK, you’ve decided you want to head off exploring on two wheels on the right side of the road. 2 weeks of riding can be the most amazing two weeks of the year or your most unpleasant! This is why I have opted for this tour package- I want to make it the former of those two.  I am here to ask questions and help you with your preparations-such as tyre choice, luggage and what to pack (or more importantly what not to pack).

We will meet at the Ferry Port in Dover and ease ourselves into riding on the right - this is something which you will find really natural in no time at all and we will be avoiding major cities which can be difficult to navigate through.  The route will take us south to the Alps, and we will do the first day on the Auto–route, as this builds up confidence of riding on the right and gets up south quickly to the fun starts.... which is of course in the Alps.

We’ll head through the Mont Blanc Tunnel into very briefly into Italy, cross alpine passes back into France and give you the full experience of why the Alps are so popular with bikers.  We will do some of the famous Route Napoleon and discover the wonders of the Gorges in Frances.

We will of course ride through Provence and then head over to the Pyrenees staying in the breathtaking town of Carcassonne on the way. We ride north through the mountains (and not forgetting Andorra) and finish up catching the ferry back to Portsmouth from Bilbao.

This is a stunning ride and one which I have down with a novice biker of 6 months experience.  The most important thing about this trip is you will be with others sharing this first time experience and getting to chat everything through at the end of each day. There is also 1 day of non riding each week so you have a well earned rest day each week too to have a bit of ‘you time’.

Accommodation will be lower end hotels/pension - they tend to be the most interesting places, with breakfast included, but on this tour dinner isn’t inc in the price - to keep costs down,  and lets you stick to your own budget, all Ferry crossings are included in the price.

What you will need:
You need to have European breakdown and insurance cover, these documents need to be brought with you.  The information sheet provided with the booking form will give you the details of required paperwork and general advice for travel on this trip.

Price:
£1400pp based on 2 sharing
Pillion £1100
